The European Central Bank: an independent specialized organisation of Community law

Summary:

The analysis will, first of all, outline the differentiated organizational structure of today’s European Union. It will then show where the ECB finds its place inside this structure. After discussing some practical consequences resulting from the new constitutional balance inside the European Union, the analysis will conclude with some remarks on what is sometimes called the 'democratic deficit' of the ECB.
