The European Parliament has called for the EU enlargement process to be opened to all applicants except Turkey

Similarly, it said negotiations should be open to all except Slovakia. But it called for 'intensive negotiations' with those judged by the European Commission to be the more advanced applicants. It added that a European Conference including Turkey and Slovakia should be launched to discuss common foreign and defence policy and justice and home affairs issues.
