Sarkozy’s initiative could face heavy weather

The Union for the Mediterranean, a personal initiative of President Nicolas Sarkozy, is due to be inaugurated on 13 July 2008 at a Paris summit that might bring together more than 40 countries – all 27 EU MemberStates plus various non-EU countries on the sea’s southern rim.
