Ukraine’s Naftogaz battles to avert default

Article reports that Naftogaz, the cash-strapped Ukrainian energy giant, failed on the 30 September 2009 to pay a maturing $500m eurobond but seemed closer to convincing note holders to accept a debt restructuring offer which is needed to avoid default.
