On a two day visit, 2-3 March 2005, the European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid, Louis Michel, called on the French authorities to back the efforts of the European Commission towards the establishment of ambitious medium-term objectives for public development aid and towards improved coordination and efficiency in the framework of a European Development Strategy.
