to free detained Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. Defence Minister Izmet Sezgin said the ruling was “grave and injurious to international law”. Turkish anger could extend to Germany given that the court released Öcalan on the basis that Bonn had already withdrawn a request for his extradition. Öcalan is wanted in Ankara for alleged terrorism.
