Competition Commissioner Karel van Miert has ruled out a third study into the controversial German and Austrian system of fixed-book prices

A spokesman said Van Miert would probably take a decision in the spring on an Austrian challenge to the practice if Germany failed to come up with a new system to comply with fair competition rules.
