The European Commission presented a proposal for a new Directive on investment services and regulated markets on 19 November 2002. The proposal aims to overhaul existing legislation in response to the far-reaching structural changes in EU financial markets over the last decade. It would increase harmonisation of national rules and meet two key prerequisites for the completion of the Internal Market in financial services. |
