Press Release: European Commission proposes to make it easier for customs to act against counterfeiting

The European Commission submitted a proposal on 20 January 2003 for a regulation to tackle counterfeiting and piracy. It lays down the conditions for customs action against goods that right holders or customs authorities suspect of infringing intellectual property rights and the measures to be taken by the competent authorities against goods found to have infringed certain intellectual property rights.
