Employers set to face penalties if they fail to inform staff

The UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is likely to impose a maximum fine of £75,000 on employers if they breach future rules on employee information and consultation, implemented under the European Union's Directive 2002/14/EC establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees in the European Community.
