Commission plan to simplify EU rules on company law, accounting and auditing

The European Commission has put forward measures which aim to simplify the business environment for EU companies in the areas of company law, accounting and auditing. The proposed measures set out to remove or reduce a range of administrative requirements that are considered out-dated or excessive. All interested parties are invited to comment on the proposals by mid-October 2007.
