Welsh Conservatives have challenged the Labour-Plaid coalition to urge the UK Government to hold a referendum on the new European Union treaty. In a debate in the National Assembly for Wales on 26 September 2007 Labour and Plaid Cymru AMs refused to back the calls for a referendum.
