Danuta Hübner, Commissioner for Regional Policy, is in Sicily on 29 and 30 October 2007 to discuss the development strategy chosen by the region to implement cohesion policy in 2007-2013 and to assess what has been accomplished in 2000-2006. During her visit, she will meet Mr Salvatore Cuffaro, president of the region, and other members of the Sicilian government and regional parliament, as well as representatives of civil society. The new regional operational programme agreed for Sicily represents EU investment of €3.27 billion over seven years. |
