Press Release: From Early Warning to Early Action: developing the EU’s response to crisis and longer-term threats

Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, will open on 12 November 2007 the conference "From Early Warning to Early Action: developing the EU's response to crisis and longer-term threats". More than 800 participants from governments, NGOs, advocacy groups, international organisations, think tanks and media will discuss during the two day conference latest developments in EU conflict prevention, crisis management and crisis preparedness. They will look into the question of how to improve the EU's capacities in this area and will also address longer-term trans-regional threats.
