Serbia: Resignation of Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica

Serbian President Boris Tadic said 8 March 2008 he will call an early general election after the coalition government fell apart over policy on Kosovo. He resigned two days after his coalition partners turned down a resolution that aimed to block the country's progress toward European Union membership.
