Cyprus lays to rest ghosts of the disappeared

A total of 1,468 Greek Cypriots and 502 Turkish Cypriots are listed as having disappeared between 1963 – when inter-communal violence between the two communities in Cyprus erupted – and 1974. Article describes the activities of the UN-backed initiative established in 2006 to locate, exhume, identify and return the remains of the missing to their families.
