Rethink of ‘VW law’ insufficient

The German government’s proposed changes to the law that protects Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker, against hostile takeovers do not go far enough, according to the European Commission. A Commission official confirmed on the 9 April 2008 that a damning letter had been sent to the German government by Charlie McCreevy, EU Commissioner.
