Spanish economic slowdown hits remittances

Figures released on 24 April 2008 confirm that Spain’s economic slowdown, which began with a collapse in the housing market, is hitting hard the armies of mainly unskilled labourers who have arrived from Latin America and Africa in the past eight years.
