Talks aim to avert Arctic oil rush

Five Arctic powers (Russia, Canada, Norway and Denmark and the US) have held a summit in Ilulissat, Greenland, on the 28 May 2008 to forestall a confrontation over the Polar region’s mineral resources and discuss how to protect its fragile environment.
