France’s blunt warning over Irish No

Bernard Kouchner, France’s foreign minister, warned Irish voters on 9 June 2008 that the rest of the European Union would look at them with “gigantic incomprehension” if they rejected the Lisbon reform treaty in the referendum on 12 June.
