A new £19 million scheme to help businesses across four Welsh counties has been given the go ahead for European funding, Deputy First Minister, Ieuan Wyn Jones, announced 30 June 2008. In addition, a £11 million scheme to transform the Quadrant Bus Station in Swansea has been given the green light for EU funding. These projects are among 27 projects now given the go-ahead for EU funding under the 2007-2013 Structural Funds programmes. This represents a total investment of around £504 million across Wales, with an EU grant contribution of almost £252 million. This means that over 14 per cent of funds have been committed to date. |
