The European Commission approved under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of BarcoVision of Belgium by the Italian company Itema. Itema produces textile machinery while BarcoVision manufactures sensors and other inputs for the textiles industry. After an in-depth examination, launched in April 2008, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
