Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of certain Schering-Plough animal health products by Pfizer

The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of certain animal health assets of Schering-Plough (SP Assets) by Pfizer, both U.S. pharmaceutical companies. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
