The European Commission approved under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of TNS by WPP, both UK-based groups globally active in the information and communications services sectors. The Commission's decision is conditional upon WPP's commitment to divest Television Audience Measurement services in the EEA and the TNS market research services business in Ireland. The Commission concluded that the transaction, as modified by these commitments, would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
