Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner on the constitutional referendum in Ecuador

On Sunday 28th September 2008, the citizens of Ecuador voted to approve or reject a new Constitution for the country.

For this referendum, the European Union implemented an European Observation Mission, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, his leader concluded after the election that Ecuadorean voters exercised their democratic rights with responsibility and in a peaceful way.
