Under the state aid rules of the EC Treaty, the European Commission found that La Banque Postale did not gain any advantage from the breakdown between La Poste and itself of the two billion euros paid by La Poste in 2006 to the national public body responsible for financing retirement pensions. La Banque Postale did not, therefore, receive state aid. The Commission was particularly concerned to ensure that the calculation of the contribution by La Banque Postale took account of the share relating to the general-purpose staff actually working for it. |
