Brussels considers rules for non-Ucits funds

Article reports that the European Commission is looking at introducing a regulatory regime for non-Ucits funds. But instead of installing a product regime, which could open up the alternative investment market to retail investors, the European Commission is said to favour a framework for qualified investors, also known as a private placement regime.
