Violence gives way to uneasy stand-off

Moldova's parliament voted 28 May 2009 to postpone the second and final round of the presidential election until 3 June 2009. If the final round ends in deadlock the opposition party will get its demand - a re-run of the contested April 2009 parliamentary election.
