Press Release: Auditing: Commission consults on possible adoption of international standards for statutory audit of EU companies

The European Commission launched a public consultation to determine whether International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) should be adopted in the EU. According to an independent study also published on 22 June, 2009, the benefits of adoption would outweigh the costs. Interested parties are invited to respond to the consultation by 15 September 2009.
