	On 17 March 2016, the European Commission approved ten major projects worth €3.3 billion for the construction of approximately 330km of new express roads in Poland. The projects would receive contributions from the Cohesion Fund of €1.2 billion and €493 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The decision for co-financing the projects fell under the programming period 2014-2020.
