Today (14.9.2009) the Council approved a EUR 15m programme, covering the three year period 2011-2013, to support cooperation of the European cinema sector with professionals from outside the EU. The programme is designed to improve the distribution of European films abroad as well as screenings of works from third countries in Europe. This will increase consumer choice, improve the competitiveness of the audiovisual industry in Europe and foster cultural exchange. |
