The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of SBI Holding of The Netherlands by Bominflot Bunkergesellschaft für Mineralöle mbH & Co KG (Bominflot) of Germany. Both companies are involved, inter alia, in the supply and trading of bunker fuel - the oil used to power engines of ships - to shipping companies and charterers in Germany, the Netherlands and Estonia. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
