Viktor Yanukovich will make Brussels his first foreign destination as President of Ukraine on the 1 March 2010 in an attempt to reaffirm his commitment to closer ties with the European Union. However, Mr Yanukovich is expected to say that he is breaking with the pro-western policy of his predecessor, Viktor Yushchenko, in order to pursue a foreign policy putting more equal emphasis on Moscow. |
