Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of Plastal Germany by Faurecia

The European Commission cleared on 24 March 2010 under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of German car plastic components maker Plastal GmbH, by Faurecia SA, a subsidiary of Peugeot that also makes components for the car industry. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
