Press Release: Statement by President Van Rompuy on the Eurogroup Agreement on Greece, Brussels, 11 April 2010

President Van Rompuy welcomes the agreement by the Ministers of Finance of the Eurogroup, under the presidency of Jean-Claude Juncker, on the practical arrangements, notably financial, of the mechanism for financial support on which the principle had been agreed by the Heads of State and Government at their meetings in February and March 2010. The agreement makes the mechanism fully operational and will contribute decisively to the financial stability of Greece and the euro zone.
