The Competitiveness Council on 25 May 2010 held a policy debate on the Commission's proposed Consumer Rights Directive, which is also being reviewed by the European Parliament. For the discussion on consumer rights, the Commission was represented by Vice-President Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship.
