	Sean Connick, Minister of State at the Irish Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, made a strong case at the EU Fisheries Council in Luxembourg on 29 June 2010, on two major issues of importance to the Irish fishing industry: unregulated mackerel fishing by Iceland and the Faroe Islands and the on-going Common Fisheries Policy reform.
