Police destroy parcel bomb sent to Merkel

Greece suspended international air mail for 48 hours on the 3 November 2010 after more than 10 suspicious packages were sent to targets within Greece and across Europe over the previous days.

An extreme left-wing group was suspected of being responsible.

The packages were sent to embassies in the Greek capital, Athens international organisations and European leaders including German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
