Average CO2 emissions from new cars sold in the EU dropped by 5% in 2009, the biggest annual fall ever recorded, a report published by the European Commission shows. The Commission also adopted detailed rules to harmonise the monitoring of CO2 emissions from cars across the EU. Commissioner Hedegaard will report on these developments in a meeting of the High-Level Group "CARS 21" on 10 November 2010. |
