Cowen to lead party into 2011 elections

Brian Cowen, Ireland’s embattled prime minister, said on the 8 December 2010 that he would lead his Fianna Fáil party into the general election in 2011, robustly defending his record as ministers dismissed speculation the country was headed for a debt default.
