Germany launches nuclear safety review

The German Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen announced criteria on the 31 March 2001 for nuclear safety tests to be carried out by mid-June 2011. The results may determine the future of Germany's energy policy amid growing anxiety about nuclear power after the catastrophe in Fukushima, Japan earlier in March 2011.
