Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of certain assets of Italian energy company IRIS by rivals Eni and AcegasAps

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of certain assets belonging to Isontina Reti Integrate e Servizi S.p.A. by ENI S.p.A. and AcegasAps S.p.A., all of Italy. The three companies are all active in the gas sector. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
