The 27 winners of the 2011 European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards were honoured on the 10 June 2011 during a ceremony at Amsterdam's historic concert hall, the 'Concertgebouw'. The awards will be presented by Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, and Plácido Domingo, the world-renowned tenor and president of Europa Nostra. Six of the 27 winners will be named tonight as 'Grand Prix' laureates in recognition of their outstanding heritage achievements. The ceremony will be attended by an audience of some 1500 people including H.R.H. Princess Margriet of The Netherlands. |
