UK faces tax plan hit despite mooted opt-out / Tax plan raises fears for Europe business

Article discusses various draft of a European Commission legislative proposal to create a new EU tax on financial transactions. France and Germany suggested that such a tax be introduced at a meeting in August 2011. While the European Commission had already suggested introducing a FTT tax in 2010 there was said to be disagreement as to the details.

The proposal was launched by the European Commission on the 28 September 2011.
