Press Release: Mergers: competition authorities agree best practices to handle cross-border mergers that do not benefit from EU one-stop shop review

The Heads of European national competition authorities ("NCAs") and the European Commission agreed a set of best practices (Best Practices on Cooperation between EU National Competition Authorities in Merger Review) on the 9 November 2011.

The Best Practices aimed to foster cooperation and sharing of information between NCAs in the European Union, for mergers that did not qualify for review by the Commission itself (the one-stop shop review) but required clearance in several Member States ("multiple filing")
