Report from the Commission to the European Parliament, the Council and the European Economic and Social Committee – The operation of Directive 98/34/EC in 2009 and 2010

This report analyses the application in 2009 and 2010 of the procedures laid down by Directive 98/34/EC for standardisation and technical regulations. It highlights the important contribution of standardisation and of the notification procedure for technical regulations to the functioning of the single market and to the implementation of the Better Regulation policy.
