Police search Sarkozy home and offices

Investigators searched the office and home of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy on the 3 July 2012 as part of a probe into suspected illegal financing of his 2007 campaign by L'Oréal heiress Liliane Bettencourt.

In October 2013 it was announced that a formal investigation targeting former French president Nicolas Sarkozy over financing of his successful 2007 election campaign had been dropped.
