The European integration process has facilitated the inclusion of regional objectives in the European Union strategies, the regional dynamics of the European project has involved the insertion of a wide range of regional and local players in the communitarian arena, a result of the reality of state regulations. Nowadays, we speak of a Europe of states, but also a Europe of nations and regions such as Catalonia, a region aware of the role of
EU as a major production centre of policies that affect most areas of public intervention, and thus, the region of Catalonia develops appropriate strategies to participate in the European project.
