Press Release: New biocides regulation enters into force

The Biocidal Products Regulation adopted by the Council and Parliament in the spring of 2012 entered into force on 17 July 2012. The regulatory requirements for industry will apply from 1 September 2013.

Biocidal products are used to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms. They include disinfectants used at home or in hospitals, rat poison, insect repellents, anti-mould sprays and paints, water purification tablets and many other products.
