Communists win Czech local elections

Report of local elections in the Czech Republic held on the 13 October 2012. Czech voters repudiated their centre-right government’s austerity policies and various corruption scandals, handing the left, including a resurgent Communist party, a striking victory in the local elections that threatened the coalition government and administration of Petr Necas, Prime Minister.
